To preserve the gown, you will have to keep it in a dry place. Water can cause stains to the clothing and discolor it. You must also keep it away from moisture. The atmosphere in which the dress is kept must be cool and dry.
You should also keep the gown away from impurities. Ensure that the room or box in which the dress is kepi is has a clean atmosphere. Impurities can settle onto a dress and later discolor it.
Keep the gown in the same carrying case that it came with. It best fits it and will help keep the dress in shape whilst it is under storage.
Do not fold the dress - It can develop wrinkles which may become permanent. Lay it down or keep it upright.
Before you store away the dress make sure it has been washed and every impurity removed from it. Look for any stains and clean it up. If the stain is left in the dress it will discolor that portion and then taint the dress.
As soon as you arrive from the ceremony remove the dress and store it. Do not wait for some other time. The longer the dress stays unprotected, the more irreversible the damage caused to the fabric can be.
Do not store your dress in plastic sheets. They tend to discolor the dress over time. Insist on the carry material that the dress came with.
